Glenn Maxwell the star all-rounder was called back in the 16-man squad named by Cricket Australia to play India in four test matches starting from February 23. Maxwell last played a test match in 2014 against Pakistan. He looks in-form and has been out of the test squad for too long. This might be his last chance to impress the selectors and prove his mantle in the longest format of the game.
Australia also have picked the 23-year old Queensland leg-break bowler Mitchell Swepson in their squad. Swepson has 41 wickets in his 14 First-Class matches. Australia have got a spin heavy squad with the inclusion of Steve O’ Keefe, Ashton Agar and Nathan Lyon with Mitchell Swepson. They would like to forget the horrors of the 2013 series when they lost 4-0 to India.
Australia has not won a test match in India since 2004, and this series might prove to be a serious challenge for the young captain Steve Smith.
