Virat Scores 4 Consecutive 200+ scores, Century Against Every Nation

Virat Kohli is in the form of his life. His test and ODI batting records have had  drastic improvements since he has been handed he captaincy of the national team. Kohli hit a formidable double-hundred on the second day of the India vs Bangladesh test match. This was his fourth double-hundred in the season and overall.

The thing to note is that all these four 200+ scores have come in four consecutive test series. He now has double-centuries against West Indies, New Zealand, England and Bangladesh. Previous record for consecutive 200+ scores was jointly held by Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid who had hit 3 consecutive double-hundreds in three series.Virat also has hit centuries against all the 7 nations that he has played against leaving just Pakistan and Zimbabwe. This was his first century against Bangladesh.

3rd Consecutive Score of 600+

India piled up a humongous total of 687/6, there third consecutive 600+ total in three consecutive test matches. This is longest streak by any team. Many teams have done it twice but this is the first instance that a team has done it thrice.

Most test runs in a home season- Kohli

Virat KohliVirat Kohli has most runs for an Indian Batsman in a single home season. With his latest 204 against Bangladesh, he now has 1168 at an average of 89 with two fifties and 4 hundereds in the 15 innings of 9 test matches in  2016/17 home season. Behind him is Virender Sehwag with 1105 runs in the 2004/05 season.

Virat and Ajinkya Put a Mighty Stand

Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane equalled Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar’s Indian record of most 200 plus stands for the fourth wicket in Tests by adding 222 runs. It was their third 200 plus stand for this wicket.

Virat- Second Batsman to score 200+ against Bangladesh

India_Bangladesh1_AP.jpgWith his 204 run knock, Virat bacame only the second Indian batsman to score a double-century against Bangladesh. The first was Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 248*, his career best against them.

Virat has now converted his last five centuries in a 150+ score. He only had one 150+ score, 169, in his first 11 hundreds.
